Tree of 40 fruit

August 9, 2014 ,

Apricots, peaches, plums, cherries, and thirty plus other stone fruits, all growing on the same tree. Do you think it is possible?

Yes, such a tree exists for real. A Syracuse University art professor is getting worldwide attention for his “Tree of 40 Fruit”. Sam Van Aken created this tree through grafting different varieties.

The first one was planted in Syracuse University campus. 15 other trees are now in community centers, museum and private art collections across the U.S.

In the spring, the tree blossoms into several different colours and in summer it bares a multitude of delicious fruit.

I invite you to watch professor Van Aken’s TED Talk.
