Happy New Year of the Sheep

Asian fare has invaded our supermarkets’ shelves because the Chinese New Year has began on February 19 th.

This year falls under the sign of the symbolic animal Sheep (or Goat), the cosmological element Wood and the colour Green.

According to Chinese astrology, this year we should expect everything and especially the unexpected. Hence, a good sense of humor is very welcome. It is also said that this year should be conducive to the development of all the arts and especially music and theater.

To start off on an auspicious note, I’m proposing some Chinese or Asian inspired dishes this week:

• Sesame-Glazed Aubergine
• Sautéed Chinese Broccoli
• Chicken Chow Mein
• Five-Spice Ribs
• Beef, Pepper, and Bok-Choy Stir-Fry
• Pork and Shrimp Soup
