Ingredients

6 apples, peeled then cut into 5 mm slices 1.1 kg
2 tbsp sugar 24 g
2 tbsp butter, unsalted 28 g
1 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon 5 g
6 scoops vanilla ice cream [optional] 375 mL

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 205°C/400°F.
  2. Peel the apples, remove and discard the cores, then cut them into 5 mm slices. Butter an oven-safe dish. Arrange the slices into the dish, then sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon. Add the butter in small pieces. Bake 12-15 min.
  3. Serve with vanilla ice-cream.

Love love love. I will definitely try it with brown sugar next time...:) I agree with everyone who said it was like pie without the crust! I DID have to cook it MUCH longer than written though. I just kept adding 5 minute increments until I had a firm-soft apple.

This was delicious! And super easy to make. I'll be making this often I'm sure. I used brown sugar instead, as suggested by some other reviewers. Fastest way to make your kitchen smell like fresh apple pie!
